Painless Poetry

Katie has been using a book this year called Painless Poetry. I can't say it's been painless for her, but she has learned so much. I've really enjoyed discussing poems and learning along the way with her. Throughout the year she's had to write several poems. I want to share her last two poems. She constantly amazes me. And not because of her ability, but because of her walk with God.

Kindness

Kindness - a smile from a stranger
to the hug of a friend.

Kindness - even when not seen
is still there.

Kindness - like love, does not envy
nor give up.

Kindness - not illiterate and speaks to those
you can't reach with words.

Kindness - shows love to those you sometimes
feel you can't.

Kindness - does not cease from the
hands that created it.

Kindness - ever flowing from the
One who first showed it.

Thank you, God, for my amazing girl who has such a desire to know you more!

The Journey

Welcome to my blog! I want this to be a place where I can share about the journey I'm on. I've had quite a journey up till now and I know that God has so much in store for me and my family. I'll be sharing about our experiences as a home school family, as a blended family, and as someone who seeks to know God more every day.

Just a brief history:

In March 2004 my first husband, Darrell, died of a massive heart attack at the age of 33. Our children were 8, 4 and 2. In less than a year God blessed me with Stephen. And 4 step-children! A couple of years later we welcomed our youngest. Yep. We have 8 kids! I love every minute of it! And I'm so thankful that my Lord is always with me, guiding me through this incredible Journey!!
